are many reasons for wishing to buy property in and move to Spain. Top of the list are the wonderful
climate, the beautiful scenery and the relaxed atmosphere. Remember, of course, that if you have
to work then you may not have the time to appreciate these as you might. Living
in Spain is not a long-holiday and you will have to work as hard as you do in
other countries.
There
are around 1.2 million foreign property owners in Spain, which is Europes' favourite
country for second homes. The majority of foreigners are concentrated on the Mediterranean
coast, and in the Balearic and Canary Islands. One of the reasons for this popularity
is the cost of property which - while much higher than it once was - is still low compared to many European countries.
Deciding
to move is probably one of the biggest decisions you can make in your life and
is difficult due to the numerous financial and personal implications. There will
be sacrifices to make and some amount of struggle however the possible rewards
are great.
Advantages
to moving:

culture - more relaxed than many with a change of pace
- Excellent climate
- The challenge and change from the norm - often leading to personal growth
- New career challenges in a growing economy
- Learning a new language and way
of life - an excellent plus for children
Disadvantages:
- Homesickness
- Not being able to see family and friends regularly
- Coping
with a different language and customs
